Architizer A+Awards '19
House 3000 is one of the Popular Choice winners of current edition of the Architizer A+Awards, under Architecture +Color category. Located in Comporta, House 3000, set out as single family house and a farming annex, distinguish itself as a scarlet architectural landmark which stands out an intrinsic dialogue between the site and its vast surroundings. The simplicity and formal clarity that arises from House 3000´s architecture defines the basic functions of this dwelling, which is settled right across a vast countryside forest in the heart of the Sado estuary.
Widely acknowledged and awarded both nationally and internationally, RA - Rebelo de Andrade has had the privilege to be awarded with both the People and Jury Choice Award, for the student residence Doorm, located in Lisbon, in the 2017 edition of this awards program. Additionally, and going back to 2012, the practice was also praised with the People Choice Award, for the House in Travessa do Patrocínio, under Single Family Home category. On this same year, Parque das Pedras Salgadas Eco-Resort, located in Vila Pouca de Aguiar, was also awarded with the international ArchDaily Building of the Year 2012, under Hotels & Restaurants category. Following, two years later, in 2014, this same prize would eventually reward the iconic Snake Houses, also located at Parque das Pedras Salgadas Eco-Resort, and under Hospitality Architecture category. Among the wide range of selected projects that are acknowledged nationally and internationally, Six Senses Douro Valley Hotel-Spa stands out as an architectural feature that has been awarded countless times by many international prizes from the tourism sector.
The practice, covering and tracing the different stages of conception, development and execution in every single one of its works, aims to establish a strong compromise between the needs and purposes of the spaces designed for people and, of course, a formal and constructive approach which takes concern and engages harmoniously the site and the surrounding landscape.
The Architizer A+Awards is the largest awards program focused on promoting and celebrating the year’s best architecture and products. Its mission is to nurture the appreciation of meaningful architecture in the world and champion those products that are integral to bringing great buildings to life. Following this award program selection, the winners are invited and honoured at a celebration gala, taking place in New York city.
