RA\\ studio is honoured to announce that Luis Rebelo de Andrade is the 2023 winner of Rafael Manzano Prize for New Traditional Architecture. The Rafael Manzano Prize, established in 2012, holds a profound significance as it aims to showcase the value of traditional architecture as a guiding principle for contemporary architectural endeavours.
Focused primarily on Spain and Portugal, this award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional careers in the realm of traditional architecture. It celebrates those who have made significant contributions to the restoration of architectural and urban heritage, as well as those who have excelled in the creation of new works that seamlessly integrate with local traditions.
Organized by the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation, in collaboration with INTBAU (the International Network for Traditional Building, Architecture & Urbanism), Kalam, the Fundação Serra Henriques, and the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, the Rafael Manzano Prize operates under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic.
